DENVER, Colo., USA: Convergent Dental, developer of Solea, a computer-aided, CO2 all-tissue dental laser system, has entered into a strategic partnership with Patterson Dental. Patterson is now distributing the Solea laser, the first and only CO2 dental laser cleared to cut hard, soft and osseous tissue. “We are tremendously excited about this partnership,” said Michael Cataldo, CEO of Convergent Dental.

“Patterson’s representatives have earned a place as trusted advisors to thousands of dentists because of their commitment to a deep understanding of what is important to each customer and delivering the best solutions to meet those needs,” Cataldo said. “This thoughtful approach to helping practices grow matches exactly with how we do business at Convergent Dental and is the most important aspect of this partnership.”

Solea has earned its reputation for delivering reliably anesthesia-free, blood-free, suture-free and pain-free experiences because of the science behind it, the technology that enables it and its simplicity in the hands of the dentists, according to Convergent. Using a single setting, dentists move back and forth between hard, soft and osseous tissue by just changing pressure on the variable speed foot pedal.

“Solea is revolutionizing the dental practice by dramatically increasing production while greatly improving the patient experience,” said Dave Misiak, president of Patterson Dental. “We truly believe in this groundbreaking technology and see it as a powerful complement to the other technologies that we have so successfully introduced to thousands of our customers.”

At the Convergent Dental and Patterson Dental booths at the recent ADA meeting in Denver, attendees could get a free demonstration of Solea and how it is designed to improve clinical procedures and practice profitability. Cataldo, speaking on the exhibit floor, said Solea dentists are seeing practice revenues increase by $20,000 per month. That’s because the time saved by not needing to use anesthesia or control bleeding is enabling them to add four procedures per day.
