CDA Presents The Art and Science of Dentistry, one of the premiere continuing education destinations for dentists and dental professionals across California and the nation, is returning this year. Canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s meeting will look slightly different as it joins a group of other meetings taking place completely online.
Running from May 13 to 16 — four days this year instead of the usual three — the virtual convention will feature more than 60 C.E. courses, live Q&A sessions with leading speakers, an interactive exhibit hall featuring exclusive deals and real-time chat and social events for dentists and their entire teams.
You can check out the schedule, see a list of speakers and register for the meeting at www.cda.org/Home/News-and-Events/CDA-Presents/Attendees.
For courses that include a fee, you must register in advance. These courses are identified in the online schedule planner (found at https://ebusiness.cda.org/ebusiness/speaker/speakerschedule) and include the two required C.E. courses, “California Dental Practice Act” and “Infection Control,” and the TDIC seminar “Calibrate Your Risk Radar.”
Many courses will be available on-demand starting the Monday after the meeting ends (May 18). These courses are included with your CDA Presents registration fee, and you’ll have access to them through June 15.
The meeting kicks off at 10:30 a.m. (PT) on Thursday, May 13, with Paul Sagel’s “New World of At-Home Whitening,” with five more courses slated to begin at noon. Throughout the following three days, courses will explore such topics as stress busting with humor, minimally invasive caries management, dentistry’s response to the pandemic, sleep disorder breathing, periodontal disease, looking at your practice from a patient perspective, dealing with medical emergencies in the office, managing esthetic dilemmas, advantages of digital dentistry, infection control, building relationships between dentists and hygientists, and much more.
Over in the virtual exhibit hall, attendees will have the opportunity to shop virtual booths, chat in real time with industry experts and access convention-only deals that have long been a part of the CDA Presents experience. There will also be a chance to win prize giveaways.
Many companies will customize attendees’ shopping experiences to include videos, downloads and weblinks on their various products.
The virtual exhibit hall will be open throughout the convention, but there will also be dedicated exhibit hall hours offered outside of the course schedule that will give attendees the opportunity to shop without missing a lecture. These times include 10 a.m. to noon and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on May 13 and 14, and 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m. on May 15. All times are PT.
Access to the exhibit booths will also be available on demand for 30 days after the convention ends.
