CHICAGO, Ill., USA: The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) recently moved into a new office space in downtown Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. “Our new Headquarters is designed to have an open and modern floor plan, perfect for supporting collaboration and efficiency in an environment built to generate innovative ideas,” said AGD Executive Director/CEO John A. Thorner, JD, CAE.

The AGD purchased the majority ownership of a seven-story building at 560 W. Lake St. in August 2012. The organization’s 70-plus employees now occupy 30,000 square feet on the building’s top two floors.

The new AGD headquarters is twice the size of the organization’s former location, a rented space in the American Dental Association building at 211 E. Chicago Ave., which the AGD had occupied since its inception in 1952.

“The significant cost savings of owning, as opposed to renting, office space will help fund new member initiatives,” said AGD President Linda J. Edgar, DDS, MEd, MAGD. “We look forward to offering our members exciting new programs, benefits and educational offerings.”

The AGD’s postal address has changed, but its member dedication and service —and current email addresses and telephone numbers — remain the same.
