Arlington Heights, Ill. — The Academy of Osseointegration (AO) is expanding its comprehensive live webinar series to provide members and dental professionals an essential portal through which to receive cutting-edge, evidence-based insights in implant dentistry, including COVID-19, and gain valuable C.E. credits.

Offered as a complimentary benefit for AO members, non-members can also register at a nominal fee for the following:

• April 8 and 15: “Healthcare Under COVID-19: Where We Are Now and Where We Are Headed: A Two-Part Course Designed For Dental Professionals And Their Staff”

Time: 8 p.m. ET

Register: April 8 session:   April 15:

This two-part course will review the basic science of virology and COVID-19 in particular. Robert Lemke, DDS, MD, will examine pandemics throughout history and how they can shed light on our present and future. He will also explore the impact of politics, social dynamics, geography, economics and ethics on the practice of oral surgery. Participants must register for each session separately.

• April 9: “Why Digital?”

Time: Noon ET

There is a significant need of understanding how dentistry is changing. During this presentation, Christian Coachman, DDS, CDT, will discuss the risks of not changing and the strategies to implement change. Participants should be able to identify the risk factors of not upgrading their practice to a digital platform, explain how dentistry is changing digitally and list ways to upgrade to a digital environment.

• April 15: “Peri-implant Diseases: Non-surgical Protocols”

Time: Noon ET

Presented by Marisa Roncati, RDH, DDS, this webinar is designed to provide participants with concrete clinical indications for practical nonsurgical treatment options. Upon completion, each clinician will be able to select the best therapeutic options for their own clinical reality, choose a comprehensive range of materials, techniques, protocol and strategies, as well as discuss tips and tricks.

• April 29: “Enhancing Peri-implant Esthetics Health and Patients’ Comfort With Autogeneous Soft-Tissue Grafts”

Time: Noon ET

According to webinar presenter Lorenzo Tavelli, DDS, soft-tissue management for dental implants has become crucial not only for enhancing esthetic outcomes of implant therapy but also for improving implant health-related parameters. Although several techniques and materials have been investigated for soft-tissue augmentation, autogenous grafts are still considered the treatment of choice.

Each of the above webinars are certified for 1.0 ADA-CERP credit hour and will be recorded. ADA CERP credit is available for 90 days following each live webinar or posted course. After 90 days, each webinar will be archived, and no CE credit will be available.
