OrthoFX, a leading innovator in clear aligners, is redefining clear aligner therapy with a portfolio of products designed to deliver effortless compliance and predictability.

This includes FXClear, which features stain resistant material and smooth, scalloped edges for enhanced comfort and fit. FXBright is a translucent aligner that gives teeth a naturally whiter and straighter appearance, without the use of whitening gels, from day one of the treatment. At the forefront of OrthoFX’s aligners is NiTime, rebranded as AirFlex, a patented aligner engineered for comfort, compliance and groundbreaking predictability.

AirFlex is the first and only FDA-cleared aligner system designed explicitly for nine to 12 hours of continuous daily wear time. It has been proven to straighten teeth with 50 percent less wear time without extending treatment duration.1

The secret behind AirFlex’s performance is its patented HyperElastic technology. It is the only aligner made from a proprietary multi-copolymer, unlike leading aligner brands that rely on off-the-shelf aligner materials. This advancement in material engineering enhances aligner performance and delivers efficient orthodontic movements.

The multi-copolymer features a highly adaptable inner surface designed to conform precisely to the tooth's outer surface, ensuring an exact fit and preventing the aligner from unseating. HyperElastic technology expands the elastic range, accommodating up to four weeks of tooth movement, reducing relapse from non-wear and minimizing refinements.

The science behind AirFlex:

  • Biologically optimal forces: AirFlex aligners are designed with a favorable cellular environment to stimulate timely generation of osteoclasts and osteoblasts. Bone tissue remodeling happens naturally, allowing teeth to move predictably to their destination.
  • Consistent force delivery: With industry aligners, very little strain (5 percent) results in excessive stress that is greater by 20x the optimal force. With AirFlex aligners, stress and strain have been decoupled, resulting in strain control within the working range without increasing stress. AirFlex exerts 8.4x less force than other aligner brands.1
  • 4x greater fit range: AirFlex boasts a 4x greater fit range than industry standard aligners, promoting effortless compliance and reducing the need for refinements.1 Its innovative multi-copolymer structure ensures an exact fit and prevents the aligner from unseating.

AirFlex completed 89.4% of treatments with one or fewer refinements1, compared to only 28.6 percent for the leading aligner brand.2 This high predictability rate offers a smoother treatment experience for both the provider and the patient.
