CHICAGO: At this year’s Chicago Midwinter Meeting and LMT LAB DAY Chicago, SprintRay has introduced expanded production capabilities for its Midas platform, previewing new multi-unit capsules and workflows designed to increase build volume and clinical efficiency. The company also previewed new materials for the Pro 2 printer aimed at improving accuracy, consistency and clinical performance across preventive, surgical and orthodontic workflows.

Although the Midas system already supported multi-unit fabrication, SprintRay introduced an enlarged capsule format and additional material compatibility intended to position the platform as a higher-throughput chairside restoration system. The expanded workflows enable clinicians to fabricate multiple crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers and temporary restorations in a single production run.

The new Midas multi-unit capsules feature more than three times the build area of existing capsules and will be available for key restorative materials, including OnX Tough 2, Digital Temp and Crown HT. The expanded format is intended to support more complex cases and higher case volumes within a single appointment.

“Chairside dentistry is moving beyond single restorations,” said Amir Mansouri, CEO of SprintRay. “At Chicago Midwinter, we are showing clinicians how Midas and Pro 2 are evolving into true production systems that deliver higher performance and support more complex, efficient same-day care. When practices can confidently produce multiple restorations in one visit, they improve performance, affordability and deliver a better patient experience all at once.”

SprintRay also showcased Precision Guide, a next-generation surgical guide resin engineered to maintain dimensional stability after sterilisation, supporting accurate drill-site positioning and consistent fit. The company further previewed IDB3, an indirect bonding tray material for orthodontics aimed at enhancing same-day orthodontic workflows.

In addition, SprintRay introduced SportsGuard, a biocompatible resin for custom athletic mouthguards produced through the Pro 2 digital workflow. The workflow enables scanning, design, printing and delivery in a single visit. Using SprintRay AI Design, upper and lower guard designs can be generated in approximately five minutes, with adjustable thickness to improve fit and retention. SportsGuard is positioned as a way to bring sports dentistry in-house, particularly in paediatric and preventive care settings.

Midas World Tour announced

To support clinical adoption, SprintRay also announced the Midas World Tour, a global series of hands-on educational events organised in partnership with the MOD Institute, a continuing education centre based in South Carolina in the US. The programme is scheduled to begin in March 2026 and will focus on multi-unit restorations and integrated chairside digital workflows.

“Education is the engine of adoption,” Mansouri added. “The Midas World Tour gives clinicians the confidence to move from traditional, technique-sensitive restorative workflows to precise, same-day digital restorations.”

Midas multi-unit capsules, expanded Pro 2 workflows, Precision Guide, SportsGuard and IDB3 are expected to become available in spring 2026, subject to regulatory clearance. Visitors to the Chicago Midwinter Meeting can learn more about SprintRay and attend live demonstrations at Booth 3622 and, from tomorrow, at Booth G27 in the East Exhibit Hall at LMT LAB DAY Chicago.
