OptiCide3: Keeping your dental practice clean and safe

Most of us are all too familiar with standards put forth regarding effective surface disinfection in a dental practice. To those who are charged with the infection control responsibilities in the office, however, many other factors may be important: ease-of-use, kill time and compatibility with equipment and surfaces.

Featuring a newer generation chemistry, OptiCide3 combines the requirements that both the government and the user demand. OptiCide3’s unique chemistry features an advanced dual quaternary (quat) ammonia active, which offers several advantages over previous generation single-chain quats, including a lower level of toxicity.

Additionally, this next generation dual-quat chemistry allows OptiCide3 to provide complete disinfection without damaging the common surfaces and equipment found in a dental operatory (study by Indiana University, see chart) and requires just a three-minute contact time.

Opticide3 comes in convenient packaging options in the form of a ready-to-use liquid and surface wipes. Each canister of wipes contains 100 large, blue, surgical-grade wipes that boast an embossed cloth to help remove soil more efficiently while eliminating puncturing or tearing when in use.

Whether a liquid or wipe is preferred, the low-alcohol formulation of Opticide3 does not require any special handling. It can even be used on dental impressions and as an instrument pre-cleaning spray.

What’s the OptiCide3 advantage? Offering the newer generation formulation with three-minute broad-spectrum kill, compatibility on equipment and surfaces and availability in wipe and liquid form.
