LAS VEGAS, Nev., USA: The AAID 68th Annual Conference, presented by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, was held Oct 23 to 26 in Las Vegas. The meeting offered attendees the opportunity to learn, network and socialize. More than 1,000 implant dentistry professionals traveled from around the world to learn from the top experts in implant dentistry, as well as from each other.

The AAID annual conferences are known for the broadcast of live surgery with simultaneous commentary from the surgeon, as well the opportunity for attendees to ask questions during the procedure. This year was no exception, as there were live surgeries, two from the UNLV School of Dental Medicine and another from Moscow.

A full-day implant placement and bone-grafting course on cadavers was offered, with world-renowned speakers and leaders in implant dentistry.

At the AAID booth in the exhibit hall, attendees could find out more about the academy, which more than 5,000 implant dentists belong to. Programs offered at the event included a vast array of hands-on workshops and seminars, supplementing 20 hours of Main Podium sessions.

The 2019 conference theme, “Synergy and Success,” was on full display as sessions featured speakers sharing their individual perspectives and insights. Back this year was a dedicated program for the entire dental team, the Dental Implant TEAM Network, which featured two days of specifically tailored sessions just for your office team members.

“Practical education for the practicing implant dentist” is not just a catchy slogan. It is the brand promise of AAID educational offerings. Meeting attendees learn through didactic and hands-on sessions and, just as valuable, through the interaction with peers in the halls, visiting more than 100 exhibitors at the Implant World Expo, and at the social events during the conference.
