ATLANTA, Ga., USA: Carestream Dental, along with the Foundation for Endodontics, is pleased to announce the recent donation of $125,000 to support education and research initiatives in the field of endodontics. “Carestream Dental’s increased level of support is so greatly appreciated and directly impacts our mission to provide help to educators, foster education and provide research funding,” said Louis E. Rossman, DMD, president of the Foundation for Endodontics.

The donation from Carestream Dental represents a renewed pledge to donate a total of $125,000 in $25,000 increments over the course of five years. Coupled with previous commitments, Carestream Dental will donate a total of $300,000 to the foundation.

“Carestream Dental’s advanced technology wouldn't be possible without highly specialized research and passionate educators,” said Ed Shellard, DMD, vice president, sales and marketing, Carestream Dental. “This donation is an investment in the field of endodontics, the future of technology and the doctors who are constantly pushing for innovation in the field.”

The foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American of Association of Endodontists, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2016. In honor of this milestone, it has allocated $1.6 million for grants, with approximately 45 percent of funding going toward research and 55 percent going to education.

Grants for research in regenerative endodontics, external and internal resorption and the endodontic/implant relationship are just a few of the ways the Foundation supports the field of endodontics. The Foundation also provides critical educational support through fellowship awards that allows researchers to become full-time faculty.

Carestream Dental is exhibiting at the AAE Annual Session, being held April 6-9 in San Francisco at Moscone Center West. Meeting attendees are invited to stop by booth No. 701 to learn more about how the company supports endodontists through specialized technology, such as endo-specific filters for its intraoral sensors and cone beam computed tomography systems with high-resolution, focused field of views.
