Creating occlusal guards and splints in-house is easier than ever, and 3-D printing and intraoral scanning are increasingly becoming the norm. Dental offices and labs are producing these types of appliances in-house with one click, minimizing labor and significantly reducing turnaround time. In a webinar presented by the Dental Tribune Study Club on July 26, an expert will teach participants how to create occlusal guards and splints in-house with 3-D printing technology.

In the webinar, course speaker Sam Wainwright, dental product manager at Formlabs, will dive into the digital production workflow, the software and hardware you need, and the benefits from cost savings to rapid turnaround times. Participants will be able to walk through the full digital production workflow and will learn more about the time and cost savings of creating dental splints in-house.

The webinar is directed at those who wish to learn how traditional splint fabrication compares to digital and printed workflows; what hardware and software is needed to 3-D print splints in-house; and the benefits of speed, cost and ROI with 3-D printing.

Wainwright has been in the dental industry for 10 years, helping labs and dentists become more effective with new technology. He most notably has worked for Custom Automated Prosthetics (CAP), Henry Schein and 3M as they expanded their presence in the industry.

The webinar, titled “Dive Deep into Digital Dentistry: 3D Printing Occlusal Guards and Splints,” is free of charge and will be broadcast online on Thursday, July 26, at 5:00 PM EST (11:00 PM CEST). Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic discussed.

Registration for the webinar is now open on the DT Study Club website, www.dtstudyclub.com.

“Dive Deep into Digital Dentistry: 3D Printing Occlusal Guards and Splints” is co-sponsored by Tribune Group GmbH. Tribune Group GmbH is a recognized ADA CERP and AGD PACE provider.
